Caregiver Respite: An Essential Component of Home-and Community-Based Long-Term Care

During the pandemic, flexibilities in formal respite services and creative informal strategies emerged to ensure meaningful breaks for family caregivers. In this letter, Dr. Utz, who is a member of the ARCH Committee for Advancement of Respite Research, provides justification for making evaluation of the effectiveness, usability, and feasibility of these new forms of respite a research priority.
