Sustainability Planning Learning Collaborative Meeting
Using a SWOT for Strategic Planning and Measuring Outcomes
Presentation by Julie Waters with the Alabama Department of Senior Services, and AL’s Lifespan Respite grantee manager.
SWOT analysis is a strategic planning method used to research external and internal factors that affect an organization’s success and growth. The Alabama Department of Senior Services and the Alabama Lifespan Respite Network have been utilizing the SWOT Analysis as an ongoing process to look at where they have been and to plan going forward. The SWOT makes strategic planning easy and with little skill set, anyone can facilitate the process. The model is easy and looks at Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. These four areas will show you how to analyze where you are now, where you want to be, and then help you to make an action plan to get there. This call focused on how this process can make a big difference in your development, sustainability and ongoing planning for all services to help caregivers including, but not limited to, expansion of respite awareness and services.
