National Strategy Implementation Learning Collaborative Meeting
Leadership Principle: Resilience, Discipline & Self-Care
This meeting of the Lifespan Respite Grantee and Partner National Strategy Learning Collaborative focused on Personal Ecology: Resilience & Discipline & Self-Care. It is more difficult to contribute to the world in a positive and sustainable way without taking care of oneself first, recognizing oneโs own unique responsibilities and capacities. Resilience is the ability to cope mentally and emotionally with a crisis, or to return to pre-crisis status quickly. Self-discipline is the ability to resist impulses, maintain focus, and see projects through to completion. Self-care is the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one’s own health and taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness, particularly during periods of stress. These are important to your team members as well.
Participants met in small groups to discuss how each maintains better balance, fosters greater resilience, and sustains a sense of purpose while being of service.ย See Discussion Guide below.
