State Respite Action Next Steps

At this meeting of the Lifespan Respite grantee and partner Learning Collaborative on Implementing the National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers, participants reviewed the most relevant items to advancing respite and caregiver support in the White House Executive Order on Increasing Access to High-Quality Care and Supporting Caregivers and shared how these actions might impact Lifespan Respite efforts in their respective states.  ARCH summarized the respite actions in the White House Executive Order in the document, Highlights of Important Actions for Respite and Support for Family Caregivers.

Some meeting participants shared Lifespan Respite grant activities they proposed in their most recent Lifespan Respite grant applications that would align with the National Strategy, and if they proposed or are considering convening collaborator groups to help support and implement the strategy at the state level. Finally, participants met in small breakout discussion groups to discuss their state activities that would help meet specific outcomes for National Strategy Goal 3 on Strengthening Services and Supports for Family Caregivers.
