Leadership Principle: Time Management

This meeting of the ARCH National Strategy Learning Collaborative focused on improving Prioritization & Time Management Skills towards implementing the National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers.

Time management is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between different activities. Time management is the coordination of tasks and activities to maximize the effectiveness of an individual’s efforts. Essentially, the purpose of time management is to enable people to get more, and better, work done in less time.

Most people start the workday with the intention of being as productive as possible. Yet, as the day rolls on, they find themselves fielding multiple urgent requests and watching their task list grow. What they initially set out to accomplish seems to get pushed to the side.

Without a process for prioritizing tasks at work, it always feels like we’re always playing catch-up. However, there are steps you can take to increase your productivity, meet your deadlines, and better manage your time.

Presenter

Lisa Schneider, Executive Director, Respite Care Association of Wisconsin will share her perspectives on time management, the tools she uses to help her prioritize tasks and manage her time from her experiences as a leader in Lifespan Respite work, her personal realities as a caregiver, and what she coaches others to do.
