This Action Guide provides resources and replicable  respite services to inform the Aging Network regarding respite services for the nation’s family caregivers. Resources are grouped under the following action steps:

1. Explore resources to help caregivers find, plan and use respite

2. Explore innovative program examples and resources for informal respite strategies.

3. Explore innovative program examples and resources for formal respite strategies.

4. Explore innovative program examples and resources on strategies to expand the respite workforce.

5. Explore awareness and outreach messaging and strategies to increase access to respite

6. Explore innovative program examples and resources on strategies to tailor respite for underserved populations in respite.

7. Explore strategies for systems change and sustainability.

8. Explore funding opportunities for respite.

Strategies included in this Respite Action Guide recognize that the capacity and financial support available for respite services vary widely by state and tribal communities. This Action Guide is part of a USAging series to help Aging Network organizations develop innovative caregiver services and supports that meet the needs of a growing population of caregivers.
