This panel discussion was hosted by Carers NSW Australia as part of the Carer Knowledge Exchange, Research Incubator 2025, Session 1

As part of the Carer Knowledge Exchange Research Incubator 2025, Connecting research to practice to improve outcomes for carers, an international discussion panel was convened on the topic of evaluation on Tuesday 27 May 2025. The session was the first of three on Day 2 of the event, which focused on Understanding carers experiences through data.

This online session explored international insights into the challenges and opportunities of demonstrating the value of carer supports. Participants heard from global voices about how evidence can help shape stronger support for carers. Dr. Kim Whitmore, ARCH Consultant, shared resources from the ARCH Respite Research Initiative and Dr. Susan Janko Summers, ARCH Consultant, discussed the Innovative and Exemplary Respite Services Evaluation Initiative. They were joined by Dr. Joseph Gaugler, who is a member of the ARCH Committee for Advancement of Respite Research and Kate Hogarth, CEO, Shared Care Scotland.

Due to a Zoom app malfunction, a recording is unfortunately not available for this session. However, a summary report featuring all linked resources mentioned by panelists is attached.
