Senate Set to Consider Billions in Cuts to Medicaid and SNAP this Week
The Senate could vote on the budget reconciliation bill this weekend or earlier.
After passing the House, the Senate is expected to take up the Budget Reconciliation bill and vote on catastrophic cuts to Medicaid and food assistance (SNAP) this week. If enacted, this bill will result in the largest cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in history and will put tens of millions of people at risk of losing health coverage and food assistance, including children and adults with disabilities, older adults, and their family caregivers.

Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME] and I live in [CITY, STATE]. I urge [Senator X] to vote NO on any budget bill that cuts Medicaid or SNAP. The Senate bill includes devastating Medicaid and SNAP cuts that would harm children and adults with disabilities, older adults, and their family caregivers in my community, while straining our state’s budget to support local programs. Please protect these critical programs and the people they serve. Thank you.
