Person-Centered Planning, Thinking and Practice for Respite
The presenters provide an overview of person and family-centered thinking, planning, and practice from the perspective of the LifeCourse framework, and an overview of the National Center on Advancing Person-Centered Practices and Systems (NCAPPS). They focused on how person and family centered-services are important to family caregivers and will provide links to resources that can assist families in planning. The National Center on Advancing Person-Centered Practices and Systems (NCAPPS) is a new initiative from the Administration for Community Living and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The Center provides in-depth, practical technical assistance to States, Tribes, and Territories to help implement person-centered practices. The goal of NCAPPS is to promote systems change that makes person-centered principles not just an aspiration, but a reality in the lives of people who require services and supports across the lifespan. |
