Assistive Technology Programs and Lifespan Respite

AT Resources for Family Caregivers and Respite Care Providers

The 56 State and Territory Assistive Technology (AT) programs provide a multitude of resources and activities that can help family caregivers and respite care providers maintain or improve the functional abilities and independence of persons with disabilities, chronic health conditions and/or aging related issues through the use of technology. The result may be reduced stress for family caregivers and improved quality of life for care recipients.

This webinar provided concrete examples of how caregivers and respite providers can connect and avail themselves of AT Act programs and activities. Presenters will share information about resources for access (resources to find and select AT) and acquisition (resources to obtain needed AT). Presenters also demonstrated a few of the most popular technology devices.

The AT3 Technical Assistance and Training Center provides information about the programs under the Assistive Technology Act. Find your state or territory AT program at www.at3center.net/stateprogram.
